There are a million reasons why people fall in love with dogs. Adorable features aside, they give you that feeling of security whenever they’re around. I don’t know if you’ll agree with me, but I feel that all’s good in the world whenever I’m in the company of canines.
Now, these pooches love being with us just as much as we love being with them. They like receiving love and affection from humans – it makes them feel like they’re the most important beings in the world. Unfortunately, not all dogs receive this treatment. Some are abandoned or shunned away because of their looks.
Such is the case of Brodie, a German Shepherd/Border Collie mix who got attacked by his mom when he was only thirteen days old. Since his bones were still very soft then, he ended up having a disfigured face. He was also partially blind.
It was hard to help Brodie find his forever home because people did not like the way he looked. It didn’t matter that he was obedient and loving, because people were quick to turn away the moment they saw him. Brodie thought he was going to spend the rest of his life alone. Well, that was until he met Brad Ames and his girlfriend, Amanda Richter.
The couple fell in love with Brodie when they first met. They didn’t care about his wonky facial features. What mattered more to them was the genuine, fun-loving, and obedient dog that he was. They loved him so much that they adopted Brodie on the spot. The volunteers at the shelter were over the moon when they learned that Brodie was finally coming home.
Brodie wears a permanent smile on his face these days. He makes it a point to show his fur parents how grateful he is every single day.
